My reason for this switch was cost. The replacement (rebuilt) Zenith was advertised for over $400 after shipping. The other part of the problem is inadequate fuel delivery - With the fuel turned on, remove the drain plug from the bottom of the carb - It should pee a steady and continuous stream - No dribbles. Check the pressure of the fuel pump assuming you have one. New pumps are especially suspect. Some have gravity fed carburetors, but they usually have a tendency to run lean, not rich.
